Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to formulate psychological-educational considerations of children’s film and animation based on the Islamic theory of action and evaluate the criteria for children’s film and animation in international and domestic documents. Accordingly, there are three important questions facing this research: First, what  are the criteria that international and domestic documents have for film and animation, and what are the principles governing them? Second, what are the educational-psychological considerations of children’s media based on the Islamic theory of action? Third, from the perspective of the Islamic theory of action, what are the criticisms (strengths and weaknesses) of international and domestic documents’ criteria concerning the content of children’s media? To answer the first question using retrospective deductive analysis method, we deduced 6 principles governing international and domestic documents, then categorized the criteria obtained from the documents by studying 15 documents from different countries and 4 internal documents. In total, 23 criteria were formulated. In the second question through progressive deductive method, 39 educational-psychological considerations in the form of 9 general criteria including: physical and mental health, human messages and rituals, values and process of ethical practices, thinking and reasoning, regulation of  the child’s relationship with nature,  agential regulation of the child’s relationship with human factors and society , aesthetic considerations, psychological considerations, and thematic considerations. In the third question, criticism was done both internally and externally, and the criteria obtained in the first question were criticized and evaluated with regard to the consideration formulated in second question. As a result, the position of the Islamic theory of action to the criteria was expressed in three forms: Confirmation ,thinkable on condition of correction and , rejection.
