The Definition of the Association of Children and Media:

The Association of Children and Media is a professional and controlling association that works in order to bring the experts in the area of children and media together and collaborate with them in the field of media production for the children.
This international association conducts research, evaluation, and observation of children media productions. It also attracts and trains members to expand knowledge on the children media production.
 Expanding the experts’ capacity within the association to produce media products with a native and localized pattern using scientific methods is one of the goals set in the association. This is carried out for policy making, planning, monitoring, and improving programs’ quality within the framework of the principles and policies of the country according to international interactions.
Moreover, the Association of Children and Media works as a facilitator and a bridge among all the scholars in the field of children and media around the world through developing a strategic plan and a code of ethics for specialists in this field and, also, makes interaction possible using a common and specialized language.

Our Main Mission:

Protecting children’s rights in the field of media is the main mission of this association. Training “educated and committed professionals” in the field of “program making” for “children and youth” using the best professionals in this field and its two branches of “education and research” both in the “theoretical and practical” dimensions is considered as another mission of the association.

  1. Conducting research projects submitted to the scientific council of the association
  2. Producing research content for the realization of media literacy among children
  3. Producing educational, training, and religious content for producers in order to produce standard programs
  4. Developing training documents in order to train specialists during short-term and long-term workshops
  5. Training specialists as a media production arm
  6. Producing standard programs for children based on the topics approved in the association
  7. Measuring and preparing statistics on the religious and educational feedback about the programs that have been produced
  8. Providing research, production, counseling, and educational services to promote the quality of the cultural and artistic products targeted young kinds, children, and teenagers in the field of media.
  9. Conducting research, educating and offering counsel to the target audiences, parents, trainers, children and media authorities, and media activists to empower and promote attitudes in the field of media literacy.
  10. Formulating strategies and policies on the production and evaluation of cultural and artistic works according to the target audience through collecting and writing of style manuals, codes of conduct, and rules and regulations of producing and evaluating both the content and structure
  11. Establishing a network consisting of coherent and purposive collaborations of children and media activists in order to facilitate employment and production.
  12. Having active and effective consultation, communication, and intellectual interaction with public and private sector decision makers in the area of program making for the target audience.

  15. Fundraising in order to get the necessary permissions and assistance both in Iran and abroad
  16. Establishment and management of economic, commercial, and industrial organizations to generate the revenue needed to achieve the goals of the association
  17. Establishment and management of children’s clubs with social and cultural facilities which allow them to spend their free and social time on the association’s goals.

With Over 400 national specialists in more than two hundred specialized fields of study, the Association of Children and Media has developed its article of association in June 2019 and began its national and international activities with respect to the goals and programs mentioned above. This association cooperates with more than eighty domestic and foreign, private and public organizations, festivals, universities, and scientific and research centers that caused more than 150 executives being involved. Generally speaking, members of the association include the specialists and professionals in the field of children and media like television program makers, filmmakers, game makers, psychology, education science and theology experts, experts in cyberspace and message engineering, as well as authors, poets, actors, directors, and others in a production team.

One of the remarkable capacities of this association is the presence of more than 140 top children-and-media researchers and experts in technical and artistic fields of study in line with the association’s goals and aims who are capable of holding diverse, attractive and practical courses for a wide variety of audiences.

Participating in most of the domestic festivals such as Isfahan Film Festival for Children and Youth, Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival, International Fajr Festival, Tehran International Animation Festival, Ammar Popular Film Festival, and other related festivals and assisting in major policy making are other activities of the association.

Also, attending overseas festivals and communicating with various children’s channels in the world, including TRT Türk, HodHod TV in Kuwait, Baraem TV in Qatar, and Baharestan TV in Tajikistan to establish co-production and cultural streaming within the pattern of the Muslim world unity and the unity of people all around the world is considered as a priority in the association.

 Another significant point about the association is having more than 300 companies and cultural and artistic institutions within the association and establishing extensive communication with Islamic cultural and artistic centers and institutions all around the world which facilitates international interaction and cooperation.

In addition, the Association has issued a memorandum of understanding with various cultural and educational centers to use their experts in pursuit of its goals and it continues to expand its activities.

Some of our Activities:

  1. Holding an expert meeting on releasing and screening a documentary called “On the Path towards Dynamism” with the theme of the pathology of the animation industry in Iran
  2. Holding an expert meeting on children and cyberspace taking a look at the television stand attended by more than 70 experts and children and media program makers
  3. Holding an expert meeting to review the world’s successful programs for children taking a look at the activities of the fifty-year-old Sesame Street, attended by more than 100 children and media managers, professionals and program makers
  4. Holding an expert meeting to review the world’s successful programs for children taking a look at the activities of the thirty-year-old Mister Roger’s neighborhood, attended by more than 100 children and media managers, professionals and program makers
  5. Holding an expert meeting to review the science-show genre taking a look at the the world’s most important and successful science programs for children, attended by more than 50 children and media managers, professionals and program makers
  6. Holding the first meeting to have a specialized review of programs for children analyzing the popular Iranian show called “Knowledge Island”, attended by ten prominent critics in various fields of production and the producer of the show
  7. Holding an expert meeting to have a premiere of the documentary called Pandora’s Box and assess violence in children media attended by producers, critics, and experts in the fields of education and psychology
  8. Holding a consultation meeting on producing appropriate content for children and establishing a platform of content production for children in the Ministry of Communications
  9. Holding a meeting in order to introduce the Innovation House to children and media experts for the purpose of interaction to produce appropriate content using new start-up practices
  10.  Holding a virtual meetings in specialized groups attended by more than 400 activists in the field of children and media, such as:
    • having a review on the animation clip called Ali Aghameh (translation: Ali is my Lord) – Presented by Professor Majid Sanei
    • Expressing Religious Themes on TV for Children – Presented by Mr. Ehsan Hesamfar
    • The Impact of Music on Learning Disorder and Music as a Mental Technique – Presented by Mr. Shahram Irandoust
  11. Visiting the backstage of different programs (both recording and currently airing shows) for program makers and professionals in the field of children and media to expand their knowledge and create a context for the analysis of children media works, like:

    • Visiting the backstage of the series called “Hekayat hay-e-Kamal” (translated as Kamal Stories) in Ghazali Cinema Town
  12.  Providing participation in various children festivals as special guests for children and media professionals

    • Participating in Tehran Mobarak International Puppet Festival as a special guest
