Miss Parvin Tajvid wins award at Canterbury Anifest

Iranian director Parvin Tajvid’s short animation “The Dog That Was Sick” won the second prize for best art design at the Canterbury Anifest in the English city last week. 

Miss Parvin Tajvid is a member of The Association of Children and Media.

Produced by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCY), “The Dog That Was Sick” tells the story of a dog that gets sick because it eats whatever it finds. When the vets take out the things the dog has eaten to save its life, the dog eats them all again. 

irected by Parvin Tajvid, the animation narrates the story of a dog that is sick because of eating whatever it can find.

Doctors try to save the dog by extracting food from its stomach, but the dog eats them again.

Produced by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, the animated piece has already won awards at the 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan and the 11th Tehran International Animation Festival in Iran. 

Launched in 2007, the Canterbury Anifest is an award-winning animation festival and the largest annual event of this kind in the South East of the UK.

It’s a great community event that invites people of all ages to come and experience the magic of animation, allowing them to get involved with something out of the ordinary.

With its range of workshops, master-classes, talks and films, it has something for everyone.

The 12th edition of the event was held on February 29-March 1, 2020
