Abstract:

The process of setting up programs schedule of TV channels, apart from the programs content, is considerd to be

a factor shaping the identity of the channels. The arrangement of the produced programs in regular manner and based on a logical topic, content, attractiveness, etc. and with regard to audiences’ needs and preferrences during day time, is of immense importance for every TV channel.
In the present study, an attmpt has been made to prepare a desired model of program schedule for Omid TV channel, using the relevent documents and with regard to the nature of the chanel in qustion. To this end, we investigate the prerequirements of arranging and braoadcasting the programs from such prespectives as structure, topic, content, attractiveness, gender, and the target audience. Also, with regard to the basis of  “audiences’tendency, need, interest”,  the rules governinging the prerequirements are expressed.
Therefore the data collected through interview with the relevant managers, experts, and psychologists as well as the exploration of organizational documents was analyzed and codifed. Then, the current situation of Omid TV channel and its desired criteria of program schedule were otained.
Finally we reached justifiable findings which can put as the desired criteria of program schedule for Omid TV channel. We, at the first step, collect the general criteria of daveloping program schedule for TV channels. Then, we analyzed each criterian separately for incorporating in Omid TV channel. In this part, it was cleared that differnet factors can shape the channel identity and the choice of orogrms to be listed in the program schedul. The factors inculded different policies in content, structure, financial matters, media activities, audience, time, conforming or nonconforming media, media research, and thype as well as amount of geografical coverage.
Each criterion divided into sub-criteria influencing the arrangement of programs in the shedule. Also, adolescents’ characteristics such as gender, age, access type, prime time, life rhythm on a daily, monthly, and annual bases as well as on aholiday basis, had their own rules which affected the programm arrangement and message engineering. Furthermore, the interaction of the channel in question with other conforming or nonconforming channels, and the appropriate formats,topics, and structures to adolescent audiences were examined and taken into consideration.
