Abstract:

The subject of this research is the place of children in public diplomacy and to examine a specific example in this area, how American principles and values are represented in Disney animations in the same direction of American public diplomacy. To this end, considering the theory of cultural imperialism and the cultural diplomacy, American exceptionalism, and American principles and values, we examined the products of Walt Disney Company using the qualitative analysis of the subject. Based on the results of this study, it was found that in the studied works, American representation and American values, highlighting America as world leader, world savior and world leader, and the superiority of American identity, illustrating the future and representing the presence and role of America’s culture and values in Future worlds, globalization and integration of the world with American culture and values, promotion of children’s cultural products and setting them up for consumption, representing different forms and Orientalist views, and displaying and promoting American lifestyle as the most important issues.
