Removal of some children’s programming formats from Jam-e-Jam Television Festival
Mohammad Ehsani, the secretary of Jam-e-Jam Television Festival, announced the removal of some programming formats in this festival.

According to Children and Young People News Agency, after a few years of hiatus, Jam-e-Jam Television Festival will hold its 4th edition on March 8, which includes four sections: competition, animation, documentary, and television series.
Mohammad Ehsani, the secretary of Jam-e-Jam Television Festival, regarding the delay in holding the closing ceremony of this festival, which was initially scheduled to be held in early February, stated: Since we reviewed the works related to four years in this festival, we faced a large volume of works and for this reason, there was a delay in the selection and judging process.
He continued: Of course, we could have held the festival in early February, which would have been rushed. We also had the days of Fatimiyyah, and on the other hand, we waited for the Fajr National Film Festival and the second decade of Fatimiyyah to end. After that, the policy-making council preferred that the closing ceremony of this festival be held in March and on the threshold of the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Zahra.
Removal of talk-show and variety formats
In response to whether their reason for sidelining children and adolescent programs was that Omid and Koodak networks are newly established, Ehsani explained regarding the review of old children’s programs: Children and young people programs have an audience-oriented format, which it was decided that this format, along with other formats including variety and talk-show programs, will be reviewed in the next round of the festival in 2018 (97 AP).
The secretary of Jam-e-Jam Television Festival stated: Our policy in this edition of the festival was to reduce the number of awards and sections in order to have more focus, and that the multiplicity of awards would not cause the ceremony to drag on.
Launching the children’s television productions festival
Finally, pointing to the launch of specialized festivals like animation in IRIB, he stated: On the other hand, we have specialized festivals in the IRIB organization, and it is planned that sections such as children and young people, in addition to this main festival, will also be featured in their own specialized festivals so that works are examined with full details.
