Abstract:
One of the environmental factors that has a significant role in children’s life is cartoons and animations and they spend rather a long time watching these. Thus studying animations is absolutely important since they can affect children a great deal. The present research is based upon studying great and Oscar winning animations produced during 10 past years and the philosophical concepts within these considering ontology, anthropology and epistemology have been thoroughly investigated. The data have been gathered by watching each of these animations several times and then their cognitive content has been accordingly analyzed and the basic concepts have been extracted regarding ontological, anthropological and epistemological domains. In the fourth chapter the points of distinction among these extracted concepts have been defined and evaluated according to Islamic-Quranic pedagogy approach. Finally in the fifth chapter of this study the concluding thoughts have been presented and suggestions have been made in four sections proposing how to prevent children from harmful consequences of watching animations. The results showed that every animation besides having positive aspects, that each has been discussed, indicates the dominance of liberalism, humanism, western imperialism and feminism that exist in most of animated motion pictures produced by western movie production companies. On the contrary in Islamic-Quranic approach it’s believed that God rules over the universe and man’s obligation to divine laws and rules is not against his freedom of will and choice. Thus it’s necessary that parents and authorities make an attempt to improve educational values of media for children to prevent children’s behaviors and actions from being affected by the negative consequences of animations which diverge from Islamic beliefs and learnings.
